The Infinite OM

Since the summer of 2002, I have consolidated my spiritual practice into one Divine Sound: OM. I still enjoy chanting other mantras, and hanging out with spiritually-minded people. I still enjoy lectures by great religious and academic scholars, however, my awareness is well-established in OM. In fact, whenever I hear the sound of a bell, and when it chimes, I immediately feel the resonance of OM and my body experiences Transcendental Bliss, or “Ananda” as the yogis call it. Divine Spirit has blessed me greatly because in other practices, I ran into some kind of scriptural or theological contradiction of some kind. Yet, my heart said “press on”, and so I did. When I crossed paths with Dr. M. Nagar of the University of Missouri at Columbia, who is in charge of the OM Shanti Spiritual Library there, all of his historical OM studies, contrasted against my previous experiences finally helped me to reach the summit of spiritual awareness. The following list includes trinitarian concepts that are indirectly invoked and recognized in the Sacred Syllable OM (AUM) chant. The nature of Divine Spirit is so sublime that it is hard to imagine ITS generosity and how IT is grateful when we put worldliness aside and contemplate IT. Our Divine Source is always waiting for us to commune with IT, always. I hope you enjoy this list. This was not taken from some book, but rather it is a merger of a few spiritual teachings from masters like Yogananda with my own personal experiences.
Remember that OM is also spelled AUM and each letter carries a vibrational blessing within it:
A - U - M
Time - Space - Atom
Fire - Water - Ether
Universal Creation - Universal Maintenance - Universal Dissolution
Brahma - Vishnu - Shiva
Saraswati - Lakshmi - Paravati (Shakti)
Physical Plan - Astral Plane - Causal Plane
Learning (Arts) - Wealth (Prosperity) - Vitality (Prana)
Faith - Hope - Love
Father - Son - Holy Ghost
Christ - Mary Magdalene - Disciples
God - Guru - Disciples
Babaji - Lahiri Mahasaya - Swami Yukteswar
Paramahansa Nityananda - Swami Muktananada - Guru Ma
Krishna - Radha - Living Beings
Shiva - Shakti - Spiritual Light
Medicine Buddha - Blue Light - Spiritual Healing
Buddha - Dharma - Sangha
Yin - Yang - Tao
Pure Body - Pure Speech - Pure Mind
Alpha - Omega - Infinity
Dharmakaya - Sambogyakaya - Nirmanakaya
Dalai Lamas - Divine Wisdom - Divine Compassion
Realized Yogis - Divine Charity - Divine Peace
Father - Mother - Children
Earth - Sky - Heaven
I hope that you will take at least fifteen (15) minutes each day to chant OM or listen to OM on a CD of some kind. Know deep in your heart that Divine Spirit is glad you are contemplating the Divine Truth of your existence. As many masters have said, when we take one (1) step towards Truth, Divine Spirit takes one-million (1,000,000) steps toward us to bless us, protect us, love us, and encourage us.
Namaste & OM Shanti,
Keith

@ Ponnuswami: Yes, we can chant AMEN as well as OM, according to the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda (Sri Swami Yukteswar). Good observation! Namaste, Keith
